The Assembly Ground
Where Tradition Meets Community
Upon entering through the grand front arch, the Assembly Ground serves as the public face of Shahbaaz. It is a space designed for the weight of occasion, hosting the solemnity of Republic Day and Independence Day flag hoistings, the precision of the march past, and the vibrant energy of annual cultural programs. Flanked by the main school building and lined with a carefully landscaped garden along its diagonal edge, the ground is the primary site where the school community gathers as one. It is a versatile arena that transitions seamlessly from the disciplined quiet of a morning address to the festive atmosphere of a school-wide celebration.

The Gulmohar Ground
For the Sentinel Gulmohar Tree
Tucked behind the school building, away from the daily bustle of the corridors, lies the Gulmohar Ground. Nearly twice the width of the Assembly Ground, this expansive space is a private arena that belongs exclusively to the students and staff. In a corner of this ground stands a lone Gulmohar tree of profound significance, planted by the students in 1997 to mark the school’s relocation to this campus. Having stood for decades as the oldest living witness to every match played and every victory celebrated, it remains the silent sentinel of the school’s history. It is the tree for which the ground is named, and it serves as a living connection between the school’s heritage and its future.
Privacy & Shade: A dense perimeter of neatly lined Conocarpus trees provides a natural green wall, ensuring privacy and a cooler micro-climate.
Exclusive Sanctuary: A dedicated space reserved strictly for students and faculty, offering a secure environment for recreation, recess, relaxation, and sport.
Championship Arena: The secondary venue for Physical Education classes, athletic trials, and the school’s annual sports championships.
Hydration & Hygiene: A convenient line of taps along the ground allows students easy access to water for washing during and after physical activity.
Natural Amphitheater: The surrounding canopy creates a sheltered, focused atmosphere, turning the ground into a theater for physical achievement.
The Landscaped Garden
Where Design and Order Meets Nature
Running along the diagonal edge of the Assembly Ground, the landscaped garden at Shahbaaz is far more than a decorative boundary. It is a carefully curated botanical environment that defines the school’s aesthetic character and commitment to order. Within this space, a diverse collection of flora, including Frangipani, desert rose, bougainvillea, bamboo, oleander, palm, mosambi, mulberry, hibiscus, red ixora, aloe vera, and Gulmohar trees, flourishes in a deliberate arrangement. Each species is maintained with the same meticulous attention that the school applies to its academic standards. This garden serves as the campus’s living facade, signalling to every visitor and student that they are entering a place that takes immense pride in its environment.
Ecological Stewardship: A garden maintained through sustainable practices, serving as a practical example of environmental care for the students.
Atmospheric Buffer: The concentrated greenery provides a natural cooling effect and a visual transition from the city streets to the academic sanctuary.
Tactile Learning Asset: A living laboratory where students can observe various plant species and their growth cycles firsthand.
Parking Space
Room for Every Arrival
To the left of the main entrance, a generous parking area provides a designated space for bicycles and motorcycles. Students arrange their cycles and bikes in neat rows and columns, a practice that reflects, in miniature, the order and discipline that characterizes life at Shahbaaz. Bordered by mature trees, the area is naturally shaded. Â
Systematic Organization: Clearly defined zones for bicycles, motorcycles, and four-wheelers to ensure orderly placement.
Strategic Location: Positioned immediately adjacent to the main gate for direct access and minimal campus traffic interference.
